September 9, 1933 - February 17, 2011
Don Pierson passed away peacefully this morning at 11:10 a.m.(EST) after battling the effects of a rare blood disorder which resulted in leukemia.
One week before his death, he was able to visit with each of his children. During that time, they were able to spend time together as a family, help care for him and each other, and ultimately say goodbye.
We will all miss him.

Don will be missed. We are sorry to hear of his passing and are grateful it was peaceful. His legacy lives on with his loving family and all those he touched for good. We are grateful to have known him and all in his wonderful family!

Don's funeral was beautiful. It was a perfect tribute to Don, and all of your family members. We love your entire family and it was so good to catch a glimpse of each of you, as you filed in and out of the chapel yesterday. We were sorry to not be able to stay for the luncheon after the graveside and speak with you all personally. We had sore throats and colds to beat the band, and did not want to spread the joy--ha! Safe travels home.... You are all dearly missed, here in Chelsea. xo

Don set the example in death just as he set the example in life ... "make the best of what comes" and "take your missionary opportunities."
As Daren was telling me the numbers of friends and family who were in attendance and were not members of the Church, I thought isn't that just like Don ... get them to the Church, preach the Gospel, let them see a happy family, and let the Spirit do the rest.
We will miss him.
Sorry I didn't get to hug you and Daren at the funeral Shauna but I appreciated being able to be there. What a treasure that picture is!
